Sleep Apnea

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea, or obstructive sleep apnea,Sleep Apnea Beverly Hills is a dangerous and often frightening disorder, where the tongue obstructs the back of the throat and prevents air from entering theĀ lungs during sleep. The snoring sounds you hear are a result of this obstruction. This condition results in a very low blood oxygen level, and can result in numerous additional physical and psychological medical problems. Patients with sleep apnea will often jolt awake to gasp for air, and have reported depression, trouble concentrating during the day, and constant fatigue.

Sleep apnea and snoring can be treated with a non-invasive oral appliance. The appliance is worn while sleeping and provides a continuous open airway by keeping the lower jaw in place.

Until recently, Sleep Apnea and snoring could only be treated with a cpap machine, like the one the gentleman is wearing.
